STORAGE TANKS
RAFA Logistics BV is the world’s leading independent tank storage company. We operate a global network of terminals located at strategic locations along major trade routes. With a 9-year history and a strong focus on safety and sustainability, we ensure efficient, safe and clean storage and handling of bulk liquid products and gases for our customers. By doing so, we enable the delivery of products that are vital to our economy and daily lives, ranging from oil, chemicals, gases and LNG to biofuels and vegoils. RAFA Logistics BVis listed on the Euronext Amsterdam stock exchange and is headquartered in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
At the tank terminals operated by RAFA Logistics BV, a wide variety of liquid bulk products are stored. Those products are classified in four groups: oil products, chemicals and LPG, bio-fuels and vegetable oils, and LNG. We also offer additional handling services at our terminals. Examples of these are blending two products, mixing additives into a product, applying a nitrogen blanket on top of a product to push out oxygen, heating or cooling products and loading or unloading ships, railcars and trucks. At many locations, we can also assist our customers with customs formalities and documentation.
Oil products (such as crude oil, gasoline, naphtha, diesel and fuel oil) are mainly stored in large-size tanks.
INJECTION VIA PIPELINE
RAFA Logistics BV has two general types of energy pipelines – liquid petroleum pipelines and natural gas pipelines.Within the liquid petroleum pipeline network there are crude oil lines, refined product lines, highly volatile liquids (HVL) lines, and carbon dioxide lines (CO2). Crude oil is also subdivided in to ‘Gathering Lines’ and ’Transmission Lines”.First, gathering lines are very small pipelines usually from 2 to 8 inches in diameter in the areas of the country where crude oil is found deep within the earth. These gathering lines exist all over the country but the bulk of them are located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
